Vaser Liposuction

What is Vaser Liposuction?

Vaser liposuction is an innovative procedure in which unwanted fat in certain parts of the body is removed by vacuuming with the help of thin cannulas using ultrasonic sound waves under general anesthesia.

How Vaser Liposuction Is Performed?

In this process, stubborn fat cells are liquefied with ultrasonic sound waves that target only the adipose tissue, and they can be sucked out of the body through thin cannulas. The 1.5 mm incisions made to place the cannula on the skin become completely obscure after a certain period of time.

Although the amount of fat to be taken varies according to the needs of the people and the area where the procedure is performed, 5-8 liters (average 6 kg) of fat can be removed from the body in a single session. If a second session is required, it is recommended to wait 6 months between procedures. While the processing time is 1-2 hours for more than one area, 30 minutes is considered sufficient for a smaller area.

In Which Areas Can Vaser Liposuction Be Applied?

  • It can be applied to any area where unwanted fat accumulates by the patient. Especially areas with disproportionate physical appearance such as cheeks, chin, jowl, neck, ankles, upper arms, inner legs, outer legs, hips, inner knees, back, belly, waist and chest are reshaped.

  • The anesthesia method varies depending on the operation area and the width of the area. For example, general anesthesia is not required for small areas such as the jowl, local anesthesia or sedation may be sufficient.

  • The Vaser method is more advantageous than the classical method. Since more fat is removed in a short time and permanence in body shaping is ensured with this technique, it is a frequently preferred procedure recently.

What are the Differences between Vaser Liposuction and Classical Liposuction?

  • There is no risk of burns, skin irregularities such as fibrosis and fluctuations as heat is not generated during the Vaser procedure.

  • Vaser directly targets fat cells. As in the classical method, it does not damage the connective tissue, vessels and nerves in the lipolysis area.

  • Since the tissues are not traumatized in the Vaser method, less pain, bruising, redness and swelling are seen. In this way, patients can recover faster and return to their daily lives in a short time.

  • Since ultrasonic sound waves are used, the extracted fat and the stem cells in it are not damaged. These cells can be injected into another desired part of the body.

Who Is Suitable for Vaser Liposuction?

  • When weight is lost with exercise and diet, disproportionate areas may appear. Or when you cannot achieve regional thinning despite diet and exercise, this process is the fastest and most effective way to get rid of stubborn fat.

  • It is frequently applied to people with a body mass index of 30 and below.

  • This procedure is not applied to pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Points to consider After Vaser Liposuction?

  • You need to stay in the hospital for one night after the procedure. You can take a bath after a day or two. You can return to your daily work in a few days.

  • According to your doctor's recommendation, you may need to come for a check-up one week after the procedure.

  • You should use a corset for 2-3 weeks in order to prevent edema (swelling) after the procedure.

  • You should consume plenty of fluids to get rid of edema and fat from the body faster.

  • You should get regular exercise and healthy eating habits, otherwise you will get fat again in the same area. As long as excess weight is not gained, the result of the procedure is permanent.

  • The bruising in the treatment area will heal within a week or two. You can clearly see the final result of the process in a few months.

Is Vaser Liposuction Harmful?

It is the safest and most effective procedure among the methods applied for body shaping. It is one of the most preferred methods because its effect can be seen immediately.
